BASF Demonstrates Easy-to-Implement Flooring Solutions at Gulfood 2016

BASF, the world’s leading chemical Company, is to demonstrate the applications of its durable and decorative flooring solutions to the region’s food and beverage industry at Gulfood 2016.

Currently underway this week at the Dubai World Trade Centre, BASF will display its flagship Master Builders Solutions brand from Stand Z5 – G58 at Za’abeel Hall at Gulfood. The Company has designed an interactive exhibition space where visitors can test the resistance of its focus product – Ucrete, and understand how the flooring system is installed – right from the mixing process to the liquid application stage.

Shane Arbuckle, Gulf Manager of Performance Flooring and Tiling Systems at BASF, said: “Flooring is a crucial component of manufacturing units, both in terms of functionality and aesthetics. The right flooring extends the infrastructure lifespan of highly demanding food processing environments and efficiently combats bacteria, organic acids and noxious chemicals.

“BASF’s Ucrete is a polyurethane resin-based system that been recognized across the market for its chemical and slip-resistance, and structural durability. In a business hub such as the GCC, Ucrete has also been appreciated for its convenient installation. The flooring system can be put back in service after a mere five hours at 10 degrees Celsius – minimising downtime and making it easier for consumers to invest in this product. Our simulated display at Gulfood this year will provide visitors a glimpse of some of these properties.”

Ucrete is known across the market as ‘the world’s toughest floor’. By extending the lifecycle of food processing units, reducing maintenance expenses and need for valuable raw materials at frequent intervals, and emitting low levels of harmful substances, Ucrete contributes to climate protection and energy efficiency.  Ucrete’s numerous features make it a robust, safe and reliable option for quality working environments. The solution has been successfully implemented in the kitchens of Dubai World Trade Centre and the Barakat Quality Plus Factory in Jebel Ali; boosting their overall quality, hygiene and safety.

As the Middle East’s largest annual food and hospitality show, Gulfood will feature ingredients, processing, packaging and food logistics providers from the food and beverage production industries across the Middle East, Africa, Far East and Subcontinent. The 2016 edition of Gulfood will convene 5,000 exhibitors from 120 countries.
