Bosch has secured a major electric motor supply agreement with Mercedes-Benz extending into the 2030s, strengthening its position in the growing global electromobility market as manufacturers scale next-generation EV production.

The Bosch / Mercedez-Benz Partnership

Bosch has won a major order from Mercedes-Benz to supply electric motors for the premium automaker’s next generation of electric powertrains.

The agreement covers large-volume supply into the 2030s and supports multiple vehicle performance classes as demand for electric mobility continues to expand globally.

The deal reinforces its long-standing partnership with Mercedes-Benz and highlights Bosch’s growing role in large-scale electric drivetrain manufacturing.

Electric Motor Manufacturing Scales With EV Demand

Bosch said it currently supplies more than 50 automakers worldwide with electromobility technologies and solutions.

The company added that it secured more than 70 customer projects globally during 2025, despite ongoing pricing pressure and uneven regional EV market development.

Bosch plans to manufacture more than seven million components for electric driving systems in 2026. The company stated that approximately seven electric motors are currently produced every minute across its global manufacturing network.

Markus Heyn, Member of the Bosch Board of Management and Chairman of Bosch Mobility, said: “The new order reaffirms our long-standing partnership with Mercedes-Benz and shows that we can successfully contribute our expertise to technologically demanding projects as well.”

He added: “We win over customers with our core competence of being able to develop and manufacture complex technology in large quantities with significant economies of scale worldwide. We deliver electric-driving solutions to all markets around the world.”

Advanced Electric Motor Technology for Multiple Vehicle Platforms

According to Bosch, the electric motors supplied under the Mercedes-Benz agreement will feature up to 98% efficiency and increased power density.

The company said the motors incorporate new winding technology and innovative rotor oil cooling systems designed to improve heat dissipation and operational performance.

Bosch also added the scalability of its platform architecture, allowing electric motor length to vary depending on required power output and enabling integration across different axle variants and vehicle models.

The combination of high efficiency, optimized winding technology, advanced cooling and scalable architecture supports more compact drivetrain designs that reduce weight, installation space and overall system costs.

Global EV Supply Chain and Production Expansion

Bosch said it continues to expand its global electromobility manufacturing footprint across major automotive markets.

In India, the company has formed a joint venture with TataAutocomp Systems to develop, commercialize and manufacture e-axles for the domestic market.

Bosch also highlighted its position in China, where it works with almost all Chinese car manufacturers as well as international automakers operating in the country and supplies more than 30 customers in China with electric driving solutions and has manufactured products for automakers there for more than a decade.
